You could put plastic eating bacteria in the guts of animals which will make the animals hungry for plastic (in addition to normal food) and the plastic will be digested by the bacteria in the stomachs of the animals in order to clean up the world, while the bacteria mutates to improve itself. Could be combined with bacteria that makes the animal eat more to counter the lack of calories in plastic.

A unmanned surface/underwater vehicle which pulls in plastic in order to feed the plastic eating bacteria inside of it. The more this technique is being used the more mutations will occur which will clean up the oceans and eventually the world of plastic.
